I am Caroline Walker, a long-time resident of Union County, and I want to represent you as state Senator for NC Senate District 35. I have lived in the Waxhaw area for the past 16 years with my husband Sean and our two children, Julianna and Sean.
Since my Father moved our family to Union County when I was very young, I have loved being a part of this community. When I see the unique mix of rural farms, small businesses, and quiet neighborhoods, I feel proud to live in a community where everybody waves and greets you with a smile.
In this community, I started and grew a small business, created jobs, and dedicated over ten years to education both in our school system and as a business leader. I now work with state and local governments to improve efficiency, increase transparency, and reduce waste.
But as a wife and mother, I know family is what’s most important. My husband and I have struggled at times, especially during the recession, and have worked hard to provide opportunities for our two children. I’m not a career politician who spends their time running for office. I’m just a mom in tennis shoes running around paying bills, packing lunches and rushing to soccer practices.
I am running to be your State Senator because I am tired of those in Raleigh spending so much money and time on things that don’t matter when there are so many things that do! What matters to my family and this community are our schools, our roads, our jobs and opportunities for hard-working families. It is time for someone to represent the people of Union County over politics. I am ready to lace up my tennis shoes and run for my family and yours. I hope you’ll join me!
